Spreading the blogging love around the world! (Long overdue post!)

I’ve been meaning to write this post for ages now. I can’t quite believe it’s May already (is it me or is this year going by super duper fast?) I’ve been real busy and to be quite honest, I’ve been getting quite frustrated that my lill’ blog is being neglected.  I do try and post more often but with a job, little ones and a house to take care of, blogging always seems to take a back seat.  I’m going to make it my new goal to post at least once a week.  There, I’ve said it so I have to make a deal with myself and stick to it.  If I don’t, you have my permission to give me a cyber kick up the butt!

So if you’re still with me, the purpose of this post is a little shoutout to all my favourite blogs…a while back, I was awarded a “Liebster” blog award by two of my favourite ever foodie blogs –  Jo Blogs Jo Bakes and Sweet 2 Eat Baking.  I was really honoured to be chosen by such talented bakers, thank you so much guys! Do yourself a favour, do check out their blogs if you haven’t already because they are just fantastic, you won’t be sorry!  🙂

So a Liebster is apparently German for dearest, favourites or beloved and this is to honour blogs with 200 or less followers. Now I must confess that I’m not sure how many followers my chosen blogs actually have. Unless a blogger openly displays their follower numbers on their site, there is no way of knowing. So I sincerely apologise in advance if I’m breaking the rules on the “200 or less followers”.  But I wanted to chose blogs that I genuinely read and enjoy.  Here are my five choices:

Rising To The Berry.  This blog is by a very lovely lady who is baking her way through Mary Berry’s book “The Baking Bible”.  I’ve got to know Anneliese a little online and she really is a gem of a person.  Every week I look forward to seeing what she’s been baking.

Baker On The Rise I’ve only just discovered this fabulous blog and I’m hooked.  You only have to look at how many comments this lady receives to see how popular she is.  Warning – visiting this site will leave you very hungry!

Sugar Dish Me This is another new blog I’ve recently discovered.  I just love the way this lady writes – it’s so warm and humorous.  Delicious recipes too, I’ve bookmarked a few to try!

The Little Loaf  This is an absolutely stunning blog with some amazing photography.  Total food porn fest.  Go visit it now and take a look at the chocolate, caramel & peanut “Snickers” layer cake.  Or the spiced chocolate orange mousse cake.  Go on, I dare you!

Cooking The Books With Kelly Jane This blog was one of the first I ever followed. Kelly Jane is a fellow Scottish lass and like me, has an addiction to cookbooks. I’m in total envy of her collection! In fact, this blog is what sparked my Dorie Greenspan obsession.  After seeing Kelly’s extensive review on Baking from my home to yours , I just knew I had to buy it! That book has turned out to be my most used book on my shelf 😉 So big love to Kelly Jane (and Dorie!)

So, here’s the rules for you all when you make your nominations:

1. Copy and paste the award on your blog
2. Link back to the blogger who gave you the award
3. Pick your five favourite blogs with less than 200 followers and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have received the award
4. Hope that the five blogs chosen will keep spreading the love and pass it on to five more blogs!

Anyway, time for bed. Night everyone and see you soon XX

    1. Thank you Jovina 🙂 You’re welcome, I’m really glad I found your blog. I’m a great lover of Italian food and culture. Looking forward to trying out some recipes!
      Nicola 🙂
